Background
An Ithauer of the Bone Shadows, Ryan came out to Colorado several years ago at the behest of a fellow Uratha looking to start a new pack. Ryan wound up turning down the opportunity once he got out there, finding that his family needed him more-- his cousin was suffering, and something was amiss in the prestigious Hawthorne family. After finding out that the family patriarch was assassinating his own sons for personal gain, Ryan deposed him, and left the family on good terms to restructure themselves. He teamed up with his cousin Morrison in Colorado Springs, helping him to pay off the spirit debts he'd managed to accumulate, and helping his cousin get back on his feet. It was there that he met a Hunter by the name of Leo; Ryan eventually discovered that Leo was indebted to the local Hunter sect when they came to his rescue in Manitou Springs. Recognizing it as the place where he was supposed to have joined the newly-formed pack, Ryan made a trip to Manitou Springs, to find the previous pack dissolved and a new,
young pack trying to take root and failing. Deciding that he owed it to Leo to try and save Manitou Springs where he had already failed once, he took over the young pack as Alpha, with his cousin joining him as his second-in-command.Personality
Ryan is a quiet but outgoing man who feels more comfortable with animals and spirits than he does with humans and even sometimes other Uratha. He doesn't talk much until you get to know him, but he's also not secretive.
He answers honestly when asked most questions, he just doesn't tend to volunteer that kind of information.As an Ithaeur, most other Uratha see him as a bit of a weirdo; he sympathizes with spirits more than most, and tries to see their point of view more often than not. Because of this, he made some poor decisions in his past, but now that he's older and more experienced, he's more level-headed when it comes to dealing with the denizens of the Hisil.
Abilities
As a werewolf, Ryan can take any number of forms between human and wolf that confer different benefits upon him. His auspice as an Ithaeur also gives him the unique ability to exert dominance over spirits.
